Intelius and the Jains’ Contributions to Society
Intelius and the Jains’ Contributions to Society
Philanthropy is not just a personal duty, but also a corporate calling for Intelius CEO and co-founder Naveen Jain and wife Anu Jain. This corporate couple (Anu Jain is also Vice-President for Community Relations in Intelius) has adopted ways to support and encourage its employees to involve themselves in philanthropic endeavors.
Like many companies, Intelius has adopted a corporate giving program that includes matching gift donations to eligible organizations such as Seattle Children’s Hospital (which is among Intelius’ beneficiaries). This joint effort by the company and employee doubles what an employee commits to donate to the recipient organization.
Secondly, an employee volunteering program encourages employees to spend time in charitable and nonprofit organizations. Sessions spent with eligible nonprofits count as paid leaves. Intellius allows each of its employees to spend time of up to twelve hours yearly in this fashion.
Consistent to Naveen and Anu Jain’s dedication to address the needs of children, education, hunger and providing quality medical care to the uninsured, Intellius has been actively supporting many charitable and nonprofit organizations such as:
- TreeHouse for Kids (specializing in foster care for kids),
- United Way of King County,
- Seattle Children’s Hospital,
- Hopelink,
- Bellevue Boys and Girls Club,
- Kindering Center,
- Olive Crest,
- Eastside Domestic Violence,
- Youthcare, and
- the University of Washington (through Intelius’ scholarship endowment program for freshmen in Computer Science and Engineering and Business programs)
In the field of education, Intelius has consistently supported the Bellevue Schools Foundation and, as has been stated, the University of Washington’s College of Computer Science and Engineering and Business programs.
In April 2009, Philanthropy Northwest through its e-business portal, added Intelius among its new corporate members.
