In the mid-eighties Steve and his business partner Peter Peterson founded their company providing financial advice. These days the Blackstone Group is an industry giant engaging in holdings as qualified as e.g. Madame Tussauds and Graham Packaging. Steve grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. When he graduated from high school he decided to study further at the highly esteemed Yale University and obtained his degree in 1969.
